David Percy
David Percy is a photographer and a paid up fellow of the Royal Photography
Society. Unfortunately this doesn't mean he has an ounce of common
sense. Nor does it make him a official spokesperson of the R.P.S.,
though you'd be forgiven for thinking this, as this is how he is often
presented.
Percy may, or may not, be a talented photographer but he is sadly lacking
in any skill in interpreting images. He's the one responsible
for most of the shadow and photography theories. He's also extremely
taken by the 'whistle blower' notion,
he must think he's one of those smart people who understand the clues..
We find it amazing that someone who is supposed to be a professional
photographer can't understand how reflected
light can provide infill to a photograph.
Some other of Percy's interesting ideas;
- Part of the surface of Mars maps roughly to an area
just north of Stonehenge in England. Not surprisingly Percy doesn't
believe this is merely coincidental.
- These corresponding objects, through a bit of ridiculous
and obscure mathematical gymnastics, indicate the exact co-ordinates of
that other conspiracy favourite; the 'Face On The Surface Of Mars'.
Unfortunately Percy doesn't understand how his contrived calculations
rather depend on the Martians using base 10 numbers and the exact same
method of quantifying angles as ourselves. Hint for Percy:
there is nothing "universal" about base 10 or about dividing
a circle into 360 degrees.
- This 'establishes beyond all reasonable doubt' an
'unshakeable case' that sentient beings lived on Mars and ancient civilisations
knew about them. Obviously the Martians didn't think to just
write 'Hello'. No, they had in mind something way
more complicated. Too smart for their own good, we'd say.
- All this, of course, ties in with the Egyptian Sphinx,
which had its nose shot off by Napoleon's soldiers, maybe because they
were anti-Semites or just because Napoleon had a big hooter himself and
was touchy about it. The Sphinx had a big nose because it's actually
part Neanderthal, as are Jews, as is the 'Face on Mars'. Or something.
Sorry, if you're further interested in Percy's nonsense you'll have to
read his web site, we couldn't take any more.
This is an
article that Percy wrote for Fortean
Times that explains at great length about "shadows anomalies".
And this is an article that
followed the month after, where he got duly panned
by readers later for talking such drivel.
Here's Percy's website
if you really must see it for yourself.
